You would think so no more than I manage to get to this blog site. Well since the new year lot's of new things going on in my life.l I have a JOB you know! lol said that for the benefit of my friends. Work is going great! I love it. I look forward to serving my community for however many years God allows me too.

Spring has sprung as well. FINALLY! I am looking forward to time fishing with Joey and the kids of course.

As life changes each day I am learning to walk each day ONE DAY AT A TIME. Trying not to move to far ahead and get in front of God. Well for now I am done and will be back soon to update and hopefully this week/weekend.

Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR! It's 1-1-11 that's too cool. Focus Wanda Focus lol

Here we are the first day of the new year. I pray that you all survived whatever celebrating you did and are safe and well.

As I sit here listening to two of my four grand-kids play and rather rough I might add. I sit knowing that any second one is going to get mad at the other. Why is it that we do that? We just have to do what we know will ultimately be a disaster in the end. I think that's what this new year will be about in most part for me anyways. Making wise or wiser decisions than before. Breaking away from old habits and choices. Stopping and thinking before leaping per say. Oops it happend one is hurt the other is mad. So I asked them, "why do you do things that you know is going to end up in disaster?" I got a blank look of course and a "I don't know".

I think sometimes God sits where I am asking me "Why did you do that". And I know at times I have sat with that same blank stare on my face and the words, "I don't know" come flying out of my mouth. As for me this new year I plan on stopping more, being quiet more, and listening more. It can be exhilarating to be still before the Lord.

Exhilarating definition is causing strong feelings of excitement and happiness. Who would have ever thought that stopping, sitting, listening could = exhilaration!

I pray you will join me in learning to STOP-SIT-LISTEN and we can rejoice together in excitment and share the happiness with all we come in contact with.

Here I sit on December 31 waiting on the clock to strike midnight ushering in the New Year! Wow where did 2010 go? It was just here and now we are moving into 2011. So much has happened this year and of course some good and some bad. I however choose to dwell upon the good although the bad times brought growth and direction.

2011 what will it hold for us, for me? Well for started I will begin a new part time job as City Secretary for Lake Bridgeport. I am excited about this adventure. It's not about the money but about more about being out of the house and part of our community at the lake. I am looking forward to that.

As well on of my favorite Christian speakers shared something on her blog this week that God used to get my attention. She shared this scripture: “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 1:9

And she then asked this question: "what do you want your life to look like this time next year and what are you willing to do today to step toward that?" WOW! I find myself pondering this as the minutes tick down to the new year.

My wish tonight is that each of you will find the steps you need to take to see your life become what it needs to be for the year 2011. May you have a very happy and safe New Years! From our house to yours God bless you and keep you always!

Thanksgiving 2010

Another year and here we are Thanksgiving Day! Well actually it's tomorrow but as I sit and reflect as we begin the holiday season my heart is full. I am so blessed to be sitting here writing this. God has been so good to our family and to me this year. This does not mean we have not had our battles and our mountains to climb for many of those we have seen come and go. And not one did we lose or not make the summit. God carried us through and is continuing to so to this very moment.

Thanksgiving is not meant to be just one day a year but a lifestyle. Now I didn't pen that I read it somewhere and it just stuck with me. Thanksgiving is something God tells us to do "in everything". I have to be honest and say that there have been many times including this week that I have not felt like giving thanks. Do you every get tired of being attacked or put down, accused and cussed? Hmmm sounds like what Jesus went through and what greater example I have to finish the race than the one JESUS set for me. Reason to be THANKFUL! If for no other reason than that I give thanks and praise.

So no matter what you may be going through at this very moment remember that JESUS LOVES YOU and HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU! You have much to be thankful for sometimes we just have to stop-look and remember! Happy Thanksgiving to one and all from my heart to you and to your families!

I was shouting YES WE CAN last night as Americans rose up and said WE WANT REAL CHANGE! And today I watched a very humbled well not totally but more humbled President speak today. The arrogance was in check. I am sure it's still lurking but it was meek today. Could it be he is feeling out numbered now?

God has a way of bringing down those who exalt themselves above HIM!

3rd day of school for our kiddos. I sure miss seeing them. Well here it is Wednesday. I am up and need to get off here and get busy. I need to organize better. I realized that I have let my skills slip some in that area. So I set a goal to get it done before winter. I think I allowed myself enough time lol.

I am reading a book by Ruth Graham one that has been out awhile ( I am always behind). It's called "Fear Not Tomorrow - God's Already There!" Just the title alone has brought me comfort and assurance. I will share as I read but I suggest everyone get a copy. It's already blessed me.

First day of School....

Well here I am. I took the rest of July and most of August off. I just needed to step back. Joey and I also just got back from taking the reds on vacation. We had the best time. We went to Galveston and the memories came back of taking their mom and her brother for the first time almost 30 years ago. They love the ocean and didn't want to come home. ME EITHER! I would move in a second to the coast. So it's been a ride here for sure. God is moving and sharing HIS desires for us and we are excited to see what God has in store for us.

So I just wanted to say hello and wish all the kids/adults heading back to school a great year as well. Share your LIGHT!

This has been the longest week for me. Why I don't know it has only had the normal 5 days of rush and rush some more. But alas it's finally FRIDAY!

Today is our mom's 77th birthday. What a blessing she has always been to me. She is the most giving person I know. She has always put herself last to help others. For 77 she is looking and feeling pretty darn good too. I only hope I am able to get around as good as she does and look that good if I make it to 77. Gonna take her to eat lunch today as well.

Man it is HOT! Bring on FALL and WINTER please! I am not a summer gal at all. Although I do love to tan and lay in the pool sunning these temps are horrible. Oh by the way Good Morning. Now that I have that whine out of the way...what a beautiful morning it is too. God just has a way of starting our days off in His glory and beauty.

Monday mornings normally are a rush for me to get things done but not today. No rushing here. I finished my day one of my new book. The questions was "How has God's intimate friendship blessed me"? Let me just say that without HIS friendship I would be lost. My prayer is as well that my life reflect that of a personal relationship with Him that others would want that too. Through this chapter I have learned that my faith is the basis of this intimate relationship. And to have that faith I must sacrifice my ways for His ways. My selfish desires must die by the wayside and I must live for HIM not for me.

I am learning! Have a blessed day everyone and week as well!

Well this week has come and gone and I am just one hour from SUNDAY! Cheer camp, playing rock band, puppies, kitties, pool and just quality time with grandkids and each other. This week was full of all the above. I am so ready for SUNDAY!

I am reading a new book called, " 40 Days of God's Blessings" by Rebecca Barlow Jordan. What an anointed writer and awesome book. I got online this late at night to share this because if you know me then you know that my memory ain't what she use to me lol.

Think about this.."True intimacy means a death to our own selfish desires".

Then ask yourself: How has God's intimate friendship blessed you?

Well Monday has come and almost gone. Sunday was awesome! God never ceases to amaze me. I am so thankful that I serve a God that when I need Him,HE is there. I called upon the Lord in my time of trouble and HE heard me and HE helped me! Yesterday I experienced that first hand. I needed Him and HE was there. THANK YOU LORD!

I pray that you reading this will experience the power of our Lord as I do daily. Call out to Him and EXPECT an answer! It's by YOUR faith that you will receive.

When God calls do you respond? If like me you stop and say "Is that you Lord"? There are times I stop and say "are you sure", or "who me"? We need to remember that God isn't looking for the perfect person but He is looking for that one that will be willing to drop it all and go.

So many times I have missed a blessing because I was too busy or thought I was not qualified or couldn't possibly handle that mission. The is a quote or sayings that says, God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called. Or something like that.

Lord, HERE I AM; send me!

Thursday Thoughts: Success

How do you measure success? Home, work, friends, relationships,etc..?

"Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged". 1 Chronicles 22

As we know and can see all around us we tend the measure success by what we have and don't have. What a shame that is. The answer lies in the scripture above via David to Solomon. Success comes from obeying the Lord and doing what HE would have us do and doing so with courage.

I am so thankful for Joey who decided long ago to live for the Lord and together on this journey we found out that things of this world do not bring lasting happiness. Oh don't get me wrong they are nice to have. But when they over-power or become more important than the laws and words of our Lord it's just wrong and our of order. Do you live your life for HIM or for things and pleasures of this world?

So how do you measure success in your life?

Well I am here again. I took an extended break from blogging but I am here now. So many things I want to share and want to say. I am sure I will upset some but you know there is a message that needs to be spoken. A very dear friend of mine shared this with me this week:

" if we don't speak up for God then we are staying silent for satan"

I really took this to heart. God has really been speaking to me lately about world events and happens. Christians around the world need to become more vocal. Call out wrong and evil. I am not advocating saying we do not sin for sin is sin and we are all sinners. I am saved by grace but still human. But wrong is wrong and right is right. Am I perfect NOT in the least.

So here I go....I hope you will join me on this blog. I will appreciate your comments and thoughts to each post.

A new day and a new journey

I awoke today with an urgency in my heart to make this a new start day. By that I mean to being those things I have been putting off. Things like cleaning out the cupboards, DIETING! That's the biggie. God said, "You have used your last excuse" yikes. So today is about getting better and healthier. I will drink water, I will drink water! I have to get serious and get busy. So say a prayer for me when you think of me.

Wow here we are January 14th one day before my BIRTHDAY! Yep January 15th is a special day. I was born well actually so was my brother. I am twin! Normally it's just another day for me but this year it's MY BIRTHDAY! What will I do? I am not sure but something special I hope. I heard through the grapevine that my sisters are taking me to eat lunch but I don't know for sure. I have praise and worship practice tomorrow at 3 as well. Joey is taking me out Saturday he even said he would go see a movie! WOW! Things do look good.

Red Tuesday!

Red why? I changed my hair color this morning to what I thought was going to be a deep brown with some red highlights and when it was all said and done I am RED! Yep really red. It's growing on me though..it's a little bright but thats suppose to dull some with the next few washings.

So it's a new day, a new season and a new me! Something different. I love change from time to time.. Now I wait to see what my family thinkgs mainly Joey. I may be going back. EEK!

It's 2010! Happy New Year! This is the first day of the new year. Behold I am doing something new says the Lord! I have had that stirring in my spirit now for over a month. In Isaiah 43 we read

Isa. 43:18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Isa. 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Isa. 43:20 The beast of the field shall honor Me, the dragons and the owl: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen.

I am so excited about the new year and to see what NEW thing God is going to do. He gave me a word not long ago or a phrase to be exact : "It's A New Season and It's a New Day!" Have faith in God and Keep Looking to Him!

Yesterday was snowing all day and cold. We wake up today to no snow it's all melted and warmer weather. You gotta love Texas! It's acquired living ;o)

Well here we are December 30th and waiting for the big party tomorrow night at the church to bring in the new year 2010 with family and friends! I can't think of a better way to bring in the new year than at church.

I saw a church sign online that said:

God gave you two hands:
One to help yourself,
One to help others!

As we prepare for a new year let's look for ways to help others and not stand with our hands out. Giving is the best ministry every. Remember you can never ever out give God!

Snowing again in Texas...

Wow thats like 3 times in December and twice this week alone. I love the snow for those that didn't know that.

Well we are just a day and hours away from the new year. I am making no resolutions this year but I am setting simple realistic and reachable goals. As always each year I desire to do better in my journey with God and to read and study more. As the new year begins I can honestly see the light at the end of the two year journey towards this degree. It has been a wonderful experience but has taken way to much of my time. I am looking forward to gaining some valuable time back. I have a goal of scrap-booking this year as well. I want to get all my photos organized and set aside for Kati and Willie. Of course my health and weight are goals as well. But I am not going to allow the devil to make me feel less than perfect again.

My motto or saying this year is "It's a New Season and It's a New Day!" I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for us.

The whole month of December has come and almost gone without me even getting her to post. I don't have any excuse because it would be just that an excuse! I can say however that I have been very faithful to my written journal each day and night.

So let me just sum up our December.

COLD ~ SNOW~ COLD~ and yes just maybe more SNOW! Yes we finally got a WHITE Christmas this year. I enjoyed that more than anything. We had a wonderful month with family and friends. Our church banquet and programs were awesome. The children's program just blew us all away and warmed our hearts. I am feeling very very blessed at the moment.

As I prepare to say goodbye to 2009 I am so ready to begin a NEW SEASON and NEW DAY in 2010! That is the word God has given me. I will share more this week on this. I just wanted to jump on and update some.

The day after....

Well the turkey was stuffed and now we are! What a wonderful Thanksgiving day we had. Although my mom fell early Thanksgiving morning and hurt both her legs she had no broke bones PTL! Our day was filled with laughter, fun, fellowship and lots and lots of food! Again we over did it. Brenda, Wiley, Tina, Tisa, myself and our kids all cooked some pretty fantastic dishes. Everything was so good. After the pig-out we all left only to do what Americans do right watch football then head back to moms for leftovers and the second round of eating. UGH I can hardly move. As I prepared for bed I thought about all the midnight sales and the 3am opening for the start of the Christmas holidays and I pondered to myself would anyone be heading to the cross to receive the FREE gift of life?

Wow they are 44 that means in January I turn ** lol. Oh me - it really doesn't bother me getting older it's part of life ya know. I look forward to each year that God gives me. I try to live it to the fullest and to accomplish all HE sets before me!

It's also FRIDAY! The weekend is here which means the rush is on for the holidays! Thanksgiving is coming and Christmas will be here before we know it! Lots to do in a short amount of time too.

Here is something I read going along with yesterday's post. The blessings of God come to those who are ready for them. So how do we get ready or stay ready for them?

We read yesterday in 1 Peter 5:6 that we are to humble ourselves to the hand of God and then HE will in due time lift us up. Humility is key to our Christian walk and relationship with God. Putting our whole trust for everything in Christ and Christ alone. Not depending upon self but upon HIM. Remember that a puffed up prideful heart finds no favor in God. But a humble one will find great favor.

I am sorta rambling today. Just a lot on my mind I guess. Until tomorrow BE BLESSED and BE A BLESSING TO THOSE AROUND YOU!

WOW! CHRISTMAS is REALLY coming! And fast too I might add.

Hello, I have a lot to reflect on since my last post on Friday. My days are filling up with more and more to do as the holidays approach as well. The grandchildren are turning in their lists to Pa and Gami to look over for their gifts. It always tickles me to see what they think we will buy when they know mom and dad won't and they are not sure if Santa will either!

Oh, hey! I won a book of Facebook. I am a fan of the Revive Our Hearts ministry and I won Nancy Leigh DeMoss' book "Lies Women Believe and the Truth That Sets Them Free". I am very excited to get started on this book and blessed that I won and it's even autographed.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and as we near the holidays our minds tend to begin to think upon the blessings we have and those we don't have. I was reading the other day a devotional called "Becoming Blessable". The scripture was:

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's might hand,
that He may lift you up in due time."
1 Peter 5:6

Without a doubt we know that we serve a very generous God. And all He gives us is good! The final line of this devotion said this:
"The blessings of God come to those who are ready for them. And readiness comes to those who love Him in humility, gratitude, and faith."

So today I leave you with this question: Are you blessable?

Friday the 13th!

Here we are facing yet another Friday 13th. My grand children this morning said isn't Friday the 13th bad? I always try to encourage them and send them to school with a blessing. So I thought for a moment and said, No day is bad! Each day we wake up we need to say, "This is the day that the Lord has made I WILL WILL WILL REJOICE in it and be glad"! If we can condition ourselves to do this then how could we ever have a bad day? Of course they just look at me right with those eyes that say, "she is nuts"!

I woke this morning with a little chorus again on my heart and in my mind. It's an oldie I learned in Sunday School and I am sure you know it too:

I am blessed. I am blessed
Everyday of my life, I am blessed
When I wake up in the morning till I lay my head to rest
I am blessed, I am blessed.

You know when we stop or if we would stop and before we start complaining or start whining realize just how blessed we really are our days would not be bad but awesome!

Take time today to count your blessing. Sit down and let GOD reveal to you just how blessed you really are. Today let's not let the devil and our circumstances steal our joy or our blessings!

Today I realize just how blessed I am:
I have a wonderfully blessed life and an awesome husband to share that with.
I am blessed with two wonderful children that I am so proud of.
I am blessed with 4 of the most beautiful grandchildren anyone can have. I love Ty, Harli, Gage and Keenan!
I am blessed to have a home to live in with heat, water, electricity and food to eat.
I am blessed to have clothing to wear.
I am blessed to serve a living God who is my strength and shield and my life is His!
I am blessed with a host of family and friends that love me not matter what. That allow me to just be me.
I am blessed to have been given today to share with each of you just how much you are loved!

Wow this list could go on and on! I truly am blessed everyday I wake up!

A NEW WEEK IN HIM

Hello out there! Well here it is Tuesday, November 10th, 2009. I just missed Monday altogether.

What an awesome weekend we had the weather was just perfect THANK YOU LORD! We so appreciate the glory of His being in everything around us.

As I was preparing for my day God put a song on my heart this morning, Turn your eyes upon Jesus. I love that song. I was renewing myself with the verses as the chorus is sang more time than the verses. I wanted to share those with you today.

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
- Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
  Look full in His wonderful face,
  And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
  In the light of His glory and grace.
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!
His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:

Helen H. Lemmel the author and composer of this song shared that one day in reading a pamphlet entitled "Focused" she read these words: "So then, turn your eyes upon Him, look full into His face and you will find that the things of earth will acquire a strange new dimness."

She said the words impacted her so deeply that she could not dismiss them from her mind. She recalls this experience following the reading of that tract:

"Suddenly, as if commanded to stop and listen, I stood still, and singing in my soul and spirit was the chorus, with not one conscious moment of putting word to word to make rhyme, or note to note to make melody. Today we see all around us how easy it is even for us who profess to be faithful followers to get caught up in the things of the earth. After awhile it will cause our heavenly vision and values to become less important and less lively. I want to say as well that this happens even when we are busy in our church activities. We get so involved in what we are doing that there are times we simply miss the real blessings and that personal time with Jesus Himself.

So today let me encourage you to put down your cell phones, turn off your televisions, close down your computers and spend some quality time with the Lord. TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS!

Be blessed always and know that YOU ARE LOVED!

Friday is finally here and SUNDAY IS COMING!

Give me a J - E - S - U - S!

It's Friday and most people where I live are getting ready for the big football game "Battle of the Big Sandy". The rival between neighboring towns can be seen all over during football season. The amount of energy and effort put into these games are enormous. The creativity of fans to show their support is a display of many delights and some not so good taste.

In thinking about this I saw on Facebook this morning many spirited posts designed to pump up the crowd - the fans. Why is it we see little if no spirited posts to pump up Christians that SUNDAY IS COMING? I am just pondering here so indulge me. People get so excited about the games whether it be football, baseball, basketball or yes even my beloved Nascar. But so few get excited about SUNDAY COMING!

So come on JESUS fans! Get excited go tell everybody that SUNDAY IS COMING! This sunday morning bless your pastor's socks off and attend church and sit in the cheering section with a big smile on your face and excitement in your heart. Sing with a loud voice as hearts are won and lives are changed with a touchdown for JESUS!

"I was excited when they said, let us go into the house of the Lord" Psalm 122:1

And when you get there rush in as you do the ballgames and concerts to grab the closest seat to the front!

GO----JESUS!

Hello! Wow this has been a fast week. Here it is Thursday already. It has been a beautiful week as well here in Texas. The sun has been shining and the temps have been okay it could be a little cooler for my liking.

Today has been an awesome day. I read something this morning that a precious sister in Christ shared and it has just hung with me all day.

God's grace is immeasurable,
His mercy inexhaustible,
His peace inexpressible.

Now read it slow and let it sink in! Is this not an awesome thought and statement? I think so. His grace cannot be measured, His mercy is for ever and ever never ending and His peace well how does one describe His peace!

We are living in times where the world has gone nuts. People are laying up their treasures in worldly things. Me I will lay my treasures where they will count read Matthew 6:19-24.

Let me ask you this, once you have read Matthew 6:19-24 - How is your relationship with the Father? Where are you storing up your treasures?

The bible is full of examples of those who chose to lay their treasures up in worldly things. Such as, The rich young ruler in Matthew 19. His god was his money. Are you willing to let go of the things of the world and chose JESUS?

In verse 21 is says, "For where your treasure is there will your heart be as well". Does the Lord have your whole heart? Are you willing to give it all up?

It has just been a beautiful day. However, it did start off rough. The kids showed up for me to take them to school. Joey called said he lost his wallet and could I look for it. That only meant that I had no time to get makeup on before going to get my hair done. As well my gas light was on when I got in the truck and that meant getting out and pumping gas with mind you NO makeup on.

I did get my hair cut and colored today and I am grateful for that. I love Jill and she does a great job! I was listening to a song on my way home from Decatur the chorus is :

"People get ready Jesus is comin
Soon well be going home
People get ready Jesus is coming
To take from the world His own"

I have found out that not many want to discuss the coming of Jesus. They are too wrapped up in what THEY want to do in life. What do you think or feel when you hear people mention the soon coming return of Jesus? Do you stop and say NO NOT NOW or does your inner man say YES LORD AND QUICKLY?

I get excited about the coming of the Lord. This ol world is going south if you ask me. Sure there are things in life I want to accomplish and things I want to see like my grandkids growing up but when the rubber meets the road people I am shouting and praying COME LORD JESUS and COME QUICKLY!

I have been locked out of my blog site for awhile now. But here I am finally back on. Now to catch up on everything and hopefully being more faithful to post daily. Well maybe not daily but for sure weekly. I was reading my daily Christian quote today and was so blessed by this one. I am so blessed by the friends I have in my life.
